The building of the former Victoria School occupies the heart of the island. Built in 1887, the school has hosted tens of thousands of students. For decades it was the heart of the youth in this neighbourhood.
The CSDM, owner of the building, is projecting its restoration into a school of tourism and hotels.
Important consultation and collaboration with the CSDM is in place, undertaken to ensure that work is within the project of Quartier 21 Peter-McGill.
Examples of the suggestions made at the CSDM include:
- Green roof
- Community garden
- Park / garden accessible to the population
- Composter for use by the school of tourism and hotel and restoration
- Eco-energy renovation of the building
