Cleanliness in the District of Peter-McGill is a challenge that must be met by the whole community.
The new law called Loi sur le civisme, le respect et la propreté, which was inaugurated on June 1st 2007, stipulates that property owners are responsible for the cleanliness of the walls and surroundings of their buildings.
Violators face fines ranging from $ 125 up to $4000 in some recurring cases. The funds raised from the fines will be invested in a beautification funding program of the Ville-Marie Borough.
